Makeover Monday: From Bulky Built-ins to Chic Simplicity

"Our client was looking to update her home office/guest room in downtown San Diego.  She wanted a feminine and sophisticated space to match her personal style and the heavy double desk installed by the previous owners, definitely didn't fit the bill."

"We started by tearing out the built-in desks and file cabinets, then painted the boring beige walls a moody purple grey shade (Sherman Williams Midnight 6264) and added a wide baseboard in bright white (Sherman William Snowfall 6000).  Next, we brought in a new sleek, contemporary desk and file cabinet from BDI.  The clean lines and white surface echoed the look of the modern baseboards and the metal legs added lightness to the space.  This desk design also incorporates hidden cord management so we don't see unsightly power strips and cables!"
