The Contemporary Design Group is a national association of independent retail contemporary furniture stores. The primary focus of our group is to harness our collective knowledge to improve the consumer experience, increase our buying power, collaborate on successful business strategies, and provide innovative advertising solutions for the independent contemporary retail furniture storeowner.
Dynamic Buying Group
Our group buying power affords Contemporary Design Group members not only tremendous pricing opportunities for domestic and imported furniture and accessories, but design exclusives that only our members can offer.

Member sales volume is over $130 million. Membership is offered to select stores, by trading area, on a totally exclusive basis.
ContemporaryHome Collection
Available exclusively at Contemporary Design Group member stores, the ContemporaryHome Collection is a carefully chosen, exciting assemblage of the best designs by leading international furniture manufacturers. Many designs are created just for Contemporary Design Group, and manufactured to our exacting specifications. Our buying committees select additional exclusive designs from existing product lines, and negotiate competitive pricing strategies for best customer value.
Advertising Services
TV Spots, periodic full-color circulars, store brochures, newspaper ads, drop tags, window banners, and other in-store materials, are just some of the image-enhancing tools available to our members. (See our sample TV spots here.)
Meetings and Conferences
At our annual conference in San Diego, CA we share ideas in advertising, buying, operations, employee relations—every aspect of running a contemporary retail furniture store.
We meet throughout the year at most major markets, which allows us time to further explore strategies for our mutual benefit and success.

Membership Information
There is an initial cost to join, and annual dues are billed quarterly. The Contemporary Design Group is headquartered in San Diego, CA. As our dynamic group continues to grow, so does our list of services. We continuously seek innovative ways to help our members. We are a cooperative organization: everybody gets involved. By working together, we all reap the benefits of a $130 million organization.
