Perlora offers quality home furnishings and accessories to consumers in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and surrounding areas. We are happy to help our customers with their other residences regardless of location.

Inventory

Perlora has merchandise from America, Europe, Asia, Norway, South Africa and Germany. Many items are available immediately for pick-up or delivery.

Special Orders

Perlora welcomes special orders. Lead times vary from manufacture and country of origin. Special orders require a minimum non-refundable deposit of 50% to initiate the order. The balance is due prior or at the time of delivery.

Warranty & Protection

Warranties vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. All items sold carry the manufacturer’s warranty specific to that merchandise. Please ask your designer about the specific warranties that apply to your merchandise. The customer is responsible for maintaining receipts and other documents required to verify purchase for any warranty claims.

Company History

Perry and Lora Sigesmund both grew up in the furniture business. Perry had a furniture store in Ohio that he closed to open Perlora in 1994. Lora worked in her family business after receiving her MBA. At their wedding each guest received a furniture polishing cloth with the name and date of their wedding, thus the furniture merger began.

The name Perlora, a combination of their names remains a symbol for the partnership between them. The South Side location is 12,000 square feet located in a former Nickelodeon theater at the end of the Birmingham Bridge. The three arched windows allow the showroom to be flooded with natural light. By 1999 they felt that they needed more space and Perlora Leather was the solution to that problem. Housed in another warehouse type building, this 12,000 square foot showroom remains the only all leather furniture store in the area.

Perlora has been named “Best Furniture Store” (The City Paper, 2003, 2004, 2008 and 2009), “Best Furniture Store” (Pittsburgh Magazine, 2003,2008) and Perry and Lora won the Junior Achievement Spirit of Achievement award in 1999.

Community Service

At Perlora it is important to “give back” to the community. The majority of our employees are active in the community volunteering and serving on various boards. Since we opened, Perlora has served as the location for many different benefits including Fashion with Compassion, CASA, Sunflower Power and Children’s Hospital to name a few. Our annual holiday promotion offers discounts in exchange for donations to Autism Speaks. Perlora is always willing to do our part to “give back”. Perlora is a member of the South Side local development, Neighbors in the Strip and ASID.
